After 18 years, the Antibarbari Open has become a tradition for soccer-crazed students in Rotterdam. After many years as an 11 against 11 tournament it was decided that as of 2002, teams would consist of 7 players on the field per team.
In all its years of glory, the Antibarbari Open has set a trend as being one of the best student sports events. Both the athletic and social aspects have played a great part in its reputation as an excellent tournament. Since the beginning, one of the main objectives of the event is to not only focus on soccer but to also make sure contestants fully enjoy being at Antibarbari, a club known for its spirit on and off the field.
As a highlight of the tournament we would like to commend those who “stand out” from all the other contestants and award them somewhat unconventional prizes. Obviously, we’re not talking about the winner of the tournament, but about the player who can do the best tricks, the best fake-injury cries, etc. Every year we like to come up with different themes where players can make themselves stand out from the crowd.
The Antibarbari Open has quite the reputation to uphold and we have every intention of making this year as special as the previous ones! This is the optimal combination of soccer and entertainment and hope you’ll be with us this year!
